Capitol Cinema shows Hollywood films nightly, year-round, in the new THEATRE B, a 90-seat, stadium-style auditorium.
On September 21, 2007, film made its official return to the Capitol Theatre, a historic 1926 movie palace. That same year, ACT 2 Inc. formed its film subsidiary, Capitol Cinema.

In 1980, ACT 2 Inc. was incorporated and started doing business as Aberdeen Community Theatre (ACT).
Both ACT and its Young People’s Theatre (YPT) have been providing quality, award-winning live theater productions for northeastern South Dakota.
South Dakota Film Festival
On September 21, 2007, South Dakota Film Festival (SDFF) welcomed back film with a screening of “Into the Wild” at the inaugural festival.
SDFF is held in September and has welcome many VIPs from around the world.
